He has over 15 years' experience advising the energy and resources industry in Australia and internationally, providing advice in relation to the acquisition, feasibility assessment, development and operation of mining and major infrastructure projects. Alex has a large stable of private sector clients as well as extensive experience advising government, including in relation to mineral concessions, renegotiations, enforcement action, policy issues and legislative reform. He is much called-upon for his government concession work and regulatory requirements. Alex has a wealth of experience in the development of bulk commodity supply chains and the provision of infrastructure and essential services in remote areas, and an unparalleled track record in successfully delivering linear infrastructure on schedule despite the significant tenure, approval and stakeholder obstacles. Alex has also assisted with capacity building. He has recently been involved in advising the Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan and, in particular, the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum on the preparation of the new Minerals Law for Afghanistan.
