He is a tax consultant and lawyer and has extensive professional experience in Anglo-American trusts and other trust-like devices, as well as estate planning, including providing legal and tax advice on last wills, prenuptial agreements, divorces, gifts, emigration and immigration. Frans is an emeritus professor at Leiden University and was a visiting scholar at Harvard Law School and a member of the Moltmaker Committee engaged in the preparation of a report on the revision of the Dutch Inheritance Tax Act 1956. He is a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners and the International Academy of Estate and Trust Law.
