About Frans Sonneveldt

Frans Sonneveldt is of counsel at Mazars, having been a partner in the private client team in the Hague until 1 January 2022. He is a tax consultant and lawyer, and has extensive professional experience in Anglo-American trusts and other trust-like devices and estate planning, including providing legal and tax advice on last wills, prenuptial agreements, divorces, gifts, emigration and immigration. Frans is a professor at Leiden University and was a visiting scholar at Harvard Law School and a member of the Moltmaker Committee engaged in the preparation of a report on the revision of the Dutch Inheritance Tax Act 1956. He is a deputy-judge at the Court of Appeals at ‘s-Hertogenbosch, and a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners and the International Academy of Estate and Trust Law.
