Her expertise covers the South African regulatory framework in respect of telecommunications and broadcasting and data protection. Claire has been involved in advising government and regulatory bodies, including the Independent Communications Authority of South Africa, on regulatory instruments and policy positions. She has also advised on a number of commercial telecommunication transactions. Claire’s experience extends to consumer protection, lawful interception, and issues relating to the classification and distribution of films and publications. She also advises extensively on data protection requirements in South Africa, particularly in light of the forthcoming implementation of the South African data protection legislation.
