About Alexandre Abby

Alexandre Abby is a founding partner of Graça Couto Advogados and has an extensive litigation and arbitration practice. With nearly 20 years’ experience, he is acknowledged as one of the most admired environmental litigators in Brazil. He has led large-scale administrative, judicial, and arbitration cases, involving, for example, three of the largest environmental incidents in Brazil and the worst water crisis recorded in the country. He also has significant experience in the negotiation of agreements between private and public stakeholders. He held the position of professor at Rio de Janeiro’s Federal University and is currently a guest lecturer in post-graduate programmes at Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro.
