About Guilherme J S Leal

Guilherme J S Leal is a founding partner of Graça Couto Advogados, with 20 years’ experience in environmental law and extensive practice in climate change matters. He has been engaged in cases involving the energy, mining, oil and gas, and shipping sectors. He holds master’s degrees in energy law from UCL and in environmental law from George Washington University. He is an adjunct lecturer in postgraduate programmes at Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro. Guilherme is Vice President of the Environment and Sustainability Committee of the British Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Brazil – Britcham. In 2024, he was appointed as a co-leader of the Working Group on Climate, Energy and Sustainable Finance.
