About Marcel Willems

Marcel Willems is co-founder of Fieldfisher’s Amsterdam office, and is specialised in dispute resolution, commercial contracting, and restructuring and insolvency. He has been a trustee in bankruptcy for many years and, besides being a lawyer, has served as a substitute judge at one of the four Courts of Appeal in the Netherlands for more than 25 years. His work varies from restructuring all sorts of businesses in a variety of sectors, from start-ups to multinationals, both high-tech and bricks and mortar companies, to acquiring assets or entire businesses out of insolvency, assisting clients in directors’ and officers’ liability cases, and litigating against insolvency trustees.
