María Fernanda Mencías Pérez has extensive experience as in-house and external corporate counsel, focusing on the oil and gas sector. She served as in-house counsel for one of the largest international oilfield services companies in Ecuador, advising operations in Ecuador, Peru, Colombia and Venezuela on contracts, corporate, labour, environmental, and health and safety matters. She has led compliance programmes, managed cross-border litigation and represented companies before administrative authorities. Her practice focuses on oil and gas, M&A, environmental and migration law. She received Schlumberger Excellence Awards (2006, 2007) and the Compliance Winner Award (2008), and is admitted to practise law in Ecuador.
