Ian Lynam is a founding partner at Northridge Law LLP. Ian maintains a broad sports practice covering financial regulation (including salary caps and financial fair play), mergers and acquisitions, financing, governance, integrity, rules and regulations, sponsorship agreements, transfers, player contracts and image rights. Ian has a particular expertise in the use of data in sport, has spoken widely on the subject and sits on the board of STATSports as a non-executive director. Recent experience includes advising Farhad Moshiri on his investment in Everton FC, advising on some of the highest-value kit deals in football, advising Premiership Rugby on a wide range of regulatory issues and advising some of the highest-profile individuals in football, including Dele Alli, Kevin de Bruyne, Thierry Henry, Raheem Sterling, Cesc Fabregas and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. He is a member of the British Association for Sport and Law, and co-chair of the International Forum of Sports Law. Ian regularly speak at conferences (domestic and international, including Web Summit and the MIT Sloan Sports Analytics Conference) and lectures on a number of undergraduate and postgraduate university programmes. He is a contributing author to a number of leading textbooks on sports law.
