Having attained a post-graduate diploma in Sports Law on the De Montfort BASL course (with distinction), Jon provides commercial and corporate advice to clients in the sports sector. Jon has led on governance reforms for The FA – one of the most politicised and scrutinised sports issues of the past year, the launch of the Hockey Pro League for the International Hockey Federation (FIH), Premier League kit sponsorships for Nike, and the WRU’s deal with its regional teams. With experience through secondments as Acting Head of Legal at IMG for Rugby World Cup matters and at Brawn GP F1 team, Jon balances legal expertise with first-hand understanding of the way in which clients’ businesses work. Jon also has a vibrant practice in the cross-over between sports, technology and data. He is a member of the British Association for Sport and Law, and a LawInSport editorial board member, contributing articles to sports law-related publications. He is also a regular legal commentator on sports issues in the media.
