About Can Eken

Can Eken is a counsel at Aktay Law Firm, an assistant professor and a deputy director of the Durham International Dispute Resolution Institute. He researches and teaches international commercial arbitration, investment law, contracts, third-party funding, commercial mediation and other alternative dispute resolution methods. He is an award-winning international legal scholar and arbitration consultant. He is a triple-qualified attorney, admitted to practice law in England and Wales as a solicitor and as an attorney in California and Türkiye. He is also a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb) and has acted in complex international commercial arbitration disputes. He has also spent time as a visiting scholar at Stanford University, the Max Planck Institute in Luxembourg and Singapore Management University.
