Can Eken
is an assistant professor and a deputy director of the Durham International Dispute Resolution Institute. He researches and teaches international commercial arbitration, investment law, contracts, third-party funding, commercial mediation and other alternative dispute resolution methods. He is an award-winning international legal scholar and arbitration consultant. He is a triple-qualified attorney, admitted to practise law in England and Wales as a solicitor, and as an attorney in California and Türkiye, and a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb). Dr Eken has acted in complex international commercial arbitration disputes. He also spent time as a visiting scholar at Stanford University, the Max Planck Institute in Luxembourg and Singapore Management University.
