Emily Slater is a managing director at Burford Capital with responsibility for assessing and underwriting legal risk across a broad range of practice areas and for identifying high-value investments in the marketplace. Ms Slater has over a decade of experience working with clients to structure state-of-the-art business solutions using legal finance and underwriting legal finance transactions. She played a significant role in building Burford’s globally recognised, industry-leading investment and underwriting processes. She is recognised as a global leader in litigation finance in legal directory ranking. Prior to joining Burford, Ms Slater was a litigator at Debevoise & Plimpton, where she specialised in complex securities and other bet-the-company commercial litigation and regulatory investigations.
