About Andrew Gilder

Andrew Gilder is a director of Climate Legal, with more than 20 years’ legal practice experience specialising in climate change, climate finance and development, carbon markets, carbon taxes, and environmental law, policy and governance. His practical experience expands across a range of African jurisdictions, including transactional advice to the public and private sectors on carbon market transactions, design and reform. He advised the South African government on the drafting of the South African Climate Change Bill, 2018, has advised on the climate change laws of Zimbabwe, Mongolia and Thailand and was extensively involved in South Africa’s adaptation and legal and policy alignment process. He has been published widely on climate change regulation and carbon tax matters.
