About Melanie Baird

Melanie Baird is head of the intellectual property litigation group at Tyr LLP and is recognised as a leading litigator both in Canada and globally. Her diverse practice encompasses complex patent, trade mark, copyright, commercial, class action, regulatory and technology disputes. Melanie’s expertise in sports matters extends to all areas of intellectual property, including licensing, trade marks, personality/image rights, media rights, copyright and digital protection (including obtaining landmark dynamic site blocking orders in Canada). She was called to the Ontario Bar in 2008 and is a Fellow of the Litigation Council of America.
