Fabio Cagnola has been practising for more than 30 years in the field of white-collar crime. In 2016 he founded Cagnola & Associati; previously, he had practised as a criminal lawyer and been a partner of a major criminal law firm in Milan. Over the years he has provided legal assistance to many major multinational companies throughout Italy and he has acted in the most prominent criminal cases in the white-collar crime area. He represents both individuals and corporations in criminal trials before the Italian courts. With specific reference to corporate criminal liability under Legislative Decree 231/2001, he has acted as defence counsel for many multinational companies involved in criminal proceedings in Italy. He co-operates regularly with foreign legal firms, both EU and non-EU based, to provide assistance in criminal defence cases brought before the Italian judicial authorities. Among his clients are some of the most important multinational corporations operating in diverse sectors as well as major credit institutions, both foreign and domestic. In January 2009 he became a member of the IBA Business Crime Committee and in January 2015 he was appointed co-chair of the Committee for the years 2015-2016. He regularly participates, either as a speaker or as a chairman, in Italian and international seminars and conferences focused on topics relevant to white-collar crime.
