Zurayda Mayet is a director at the firm. She acts on behalf of major local and international corporate clients, listed companies and state-owned enterprises, including cannabis law, mergers and acquisitions, mining and minerals, telecommunications, energy, oil and gas, banking and finance, projects and energy, hospitality and leisure, dispute resolution and arbitration. Her experience covers the full spectrum of commercial law both in South Africa and Lesotho, including the drafting and negotiation of commercial documents, advisory work on matters relating to mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, due diligence investigations, drafting of legal opinions and the identification of legal risks. Zurayda is also one of the founding members and organisers of the Phekoana Cannabis Association of Lesotho and has thus far represented 21 multinational medical cannabis companies. Zurayda has a master’s degree in labour law with a specialisation on the legalisation of cannabis in South Africa and the effects in the workplace.
