About Luis Cunha

Luis Cunha is a partner at ASAR and heads the firm’s corporate commercial team. With over two decades of top-tier legal experience across three continents, he has played a pivotal role in ASAR’s growth and success since joining the firm in 2009. Luis advises both international and domestic clients on a wide range of corporate matters, including mergers and acquisitions, and cross-border transactions. His sector experience spans pharmaceuticals, construction, defence, telecommunications, e-commerce, manufacturing, and oil and gas. He has been involved in several market-first transactions, notably the establishment of a majority foreign-owned company under a hybrid framework aligned with Kuwait’s Foreign Direct Investment Law. Luis is admitted as an attorney of the High Court of South Africa and as a solicitor of the Senior Courts of England and Wales.
