About Matija Čekanović

Matija Čekanović joined Nikčević & Kapor in September 2024, specialising in international and domestic commercial arbitration, investment arbitration, and construction law. He holds an LLB from the University of Belgrade and is currently pursuing an LLM in International Business Law at the same university. During his studies, Matija was a member of the Willem C. Vis Moot team, contributing to the University’s historic achievements. The team earned honourable mentions for both Best Claimant and Best Respondent Memoranda, a first for the institution, and secured first place at the AIACAM Pre-Moot in Milan. He is fluent in English and has basic proficiency in Russian.
