About Lucas Akel Filgueiras

Lucas Akel Filgueiras founded Akel Advogados in 2020. He holds an LLM from the University of Munich, with emphasis on corporate law and capital markets, and an LLB from the University of São Paulo, Brazil – Faculdade de Direito de Ribeirão Preto. Lucas’s practice focuses on complex commercial litigation, and, in particular, shareholder disputes, securities litigation and creditor representation in bankruptcy and restructuring proceedings. He has extensive appellate experience before corporate law panels in state courts (TJSP) and federal courts, namely the Brazilian High Court of Justice (STJ). He also acts in arbitration courts and before the Brazilian Security Exchange Commission (CVM).
