About Javier Franco

Javier Franco is a partner at Franco & Abogados, and is the current President of the Colombian MLA, a member of the Ibero-American Institute of Maritime Law, a titulary member of the Comité Maritime International (CMI) and a member of the CMI’s International Working Group on Lex Maritima. He was a member of the group of experts appointed by the National Maritime Authority to prepare the first version of the Draft Maritime Code. Javier has written several articles within the ambit of transportation/maritime law, and authored a book (published in 2014) entitled “Legal aspects of logistics and logistics service contracts”. He also lectures on maritime/transportation law at Externado University.
