About Fausto Alvarado

Fausto Alvarado is a special counsel at Robalino and has more than 20 years of experience advising clients on competition matters, consumer defence, data protection and compliance. Fausto has participated in cases related to a wide range of industries. He was the first chief of the competition authority, author of the Organic Law for the Regulation and Control of Market Power, and consultant for several international organisations on competition and consumer defence, such as CAN, EU and IDB. Fausto is the President of the Ecuadorian Institute of Competition Law (IEDC) and a professor of Competition Law. He was Vice Minister and Under Secretary of State in the Ministry of Industry (2009–2011).
