About María Belén Espiñeira

María Belén Espiñeira graduated from the Pontifical Catholic University of Argentina and obtained a Master’s degree in International Maritime Law, with distinction, from Swansea University. She has over 20 years of experience in the maritime sector. Ms Espiñeira founded IT&L Legal Consultants in 2011. She provides legal advice to domestic and foreign companies related to the maritime transport, shipping and maritime insurance sectors. Her areas of practice are charterparties disputes, cargo claims, major maritime incidents, regulatory matters, customs issues, insurance and international trade-related matters. Ms Espiñeira is also a lecturer and has participated as speaker in high-profile international events such as the Parallel Event of the World Maritime Day organised by the IMO.
