About Rita Ku

Rita Ku is a founding partner at Rita Ku & Ser. She has vast experience and knowledge of dealing with family disputes concerning jurisdiction, divorce, children, ancillary relief, etc. Her landmark case ML v YJ in 2010 (HKEC 1924) went to the Court of Final Appeal and led to a change in the law in Hong Kong concerning a party’s ability to apply for financial provision following a foreign decree. Rita, who is fluent in English, Cantonese and Mandarin, was the only Hong Kong practitioner shortlisted by global professional body, STEP, as the “People’s Choice – Trusted Adviser of the Year” in 2021, highlighting the work she does for established family offices.
