About Sjoerd Douma

Sjoerd Douma joined Lubbers, Boer & Douma as a partner in March 2017 after having worked at a large international tax advisory firm for 12.5 years. Sjoerd is a professor of International & EU Tax Law at the University of Amsterdam and represents clients before the Dutch tax authorities, the European Commission, district courts, appellate courts, and the Supreme Court, as well as the CJEU in matters of Dutch, EU and international tax law (including state aid and foreign subsidies). Sjoerd also served as deputy judge in the District Court of Haarlem and as deputy justice in the Court of Appeal in Arnhem-Leeuwarden. Sjoerd is a member of the Dutch Association of Tax Advisors (NOB).
