About Edward Rowe

Edward Rowe is co-chair of Osler’s tax group, with primary responsibility for the dispute resolution practice. He focuses on complex tax disputes, including those involving cross-border taxation (both inbound and outbound), transfer pricing, and the GAAR. Formerly a special adviser to the Department of Finance, Edward has successfully represented taxpayers before the Canadian Competent Authority in negotiating complex APAs, and in the MAP process, including under Article XIII(8). He has acted on leading tax cases at all court levels, including transfer pricing appeals for Suncor Energy (regarding hedging contracts) and ConocoPhillips (regarding guarantee fees), both of which settled successfully prior to trial.
