About Derek Couper

Derek Couper is a senior associate in Pogust Goodhead’s Edinburgh team. Derek is a specialist in medical negligence law and was ranked in Chambers and Partners’ 2023 Directory as an “Associate to Watch” in this field. He has handled some of the largest and most complex clinical negligence cases settled in recent years in Scotland, and is recognised by peers across the profession as a leader in this area. Prior to joining Pogust Goodhead, Derek was the principal solicitor dealing with medical negligence claims at another national law firm, and he has specialised in this area for eight years.
