About Marcelo Mello

Marcelo Mello is the founding partner of Nantes Mello Advogados and head of the aviation practice. Marcelo advises on leasing, sale and purchase, and financing of commercial aircraft. He represents clients in complex aviation contracts involving OEMs and maintenance providers, and advises on regulatory matters in both commercial and defence sectors. He has led multi-billion-dollar aviation restructurings, including Azul’s award-winning restructuring and recapitalisation, named Global Restructuring Deal of the Year 2023 by Airline Economics. Marcelo is recognised for his leadership in Latin American aviation, with an extensive professional network and active roles in key industry groups such as ALTA and ISTAT.
