About Tansu Akin

Tansu Akin is a Turkish lawyer with an international business background. After graduating from Ankara Law School in 2000, he started his legal career representing various multinational clients in the fields of FMGC, automotive, banking, manufacturing, and distribution. He has attended LLM studies in European Law and MSc in Fiscal Markets, and completed business management programmes in Istanbul and Geneva. Between 2006 and 2016, Tansu served as chief legal counsel for an automotive company, where he also acted as corporate secretary, handling legal, compliance, lobbying, and shareholder relations to sustain and expand the company’s manufacturing and distribution operations. Upon leaving his in-house role, he returned to Akin Legal as the managing partner. Between 2018 and 2021, Tansu served as a government-appointed mediator in collective bargaining disputes. Tansu’s practice encompasses strategic consultancy and litigation services, including commercial, product liability, consumer protection, tax, shareholder derivative suits, product safety matters (including recalls), e-commerce and technology.
