About Benjamin Spies

Benjamin Spies focuses on intellectual property and AI-related matters, including IP protection in software licensing, open-source software and cross-border data flows relevant to AI training data, as well as IT security and compliance projects touching on AI governance. He studied law at the University of Constance, qualifying in 2007, and was admitted to the Bar in 2008. He gained early experience at two major US law firms, before spending ten years as partner at a leading national firm and becoming a founding partner of TEAL in 2025. Benjamin Spies is a member of the German Bar Association, Munich Bar Association and DAVIT.
