About Olga Karungi

Olga Karungi is a senior associate at Kirunda & Co Advocates, specialising in intellectual property, artificial intelligence and technology governance. She advises clients on IP protection, AI regulation, data protection and innovation policy, combining technical legal analysis with commercially grounded insight. Olga serves as Vice Chairperson of the Steering Committee of Uganda’s National Research and Innovation Programme. She is also a Policy Fellow at the Centre for Law and Emerging Technologies at Makerere University and co-led the comprehensive legal and policy audit of Uganda’s science, technology and innovation ecosystem. Olga regularly speaks at industry conferences and delivers training on organisational adaptation to artificial intelligence and is currently undertaking similar responsibilities at the iNtaka Centre for Law and Technology at the University of Cape Town.
