About Sergio López

Sergio López is a partner in the competition and antitrust practice at Von Wobeser y Sierra. Prior to joining the firm, he worked for almost 20 years at COFECE, holding positions of the highest responsibility, including director general for contentious affairs, head of the technical secretariat and head of the Investigative Authority. Sergio has actively participated in hundreds of constitutional control proceedings (amparo trials, constitutional disputes and unconstitutionality lawsuits) before the different institutions of the Federal Judiciary Branch. Furthermore, he supervised merger notification procedures, and initiated and conducted multiple investigations on cartels, abuse of dominance, essential factors, and the existence of competition conditions in regulated markets and substantial market power.
