About Arig Ali

Arig Ali is partner and head of M&A at Zaki Hashem, Attorneys at Law. Qualified in both Egypt and the UK, she has over 23 years’ experience advising on M&A and private equity deals, including startup and VC transactions. Arig has authored a landmark study on Egypt’s VC/PE legal framework, which is pending parliamentary approval. She developed and teaches the legal modules of the American University in Cairo’s Private Equity Diploma, where she also introduced a chapter on venture capital. Arig holds degrees from Indiana University, Université de Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, Cairo University and BPP Law School. She is also a member of the Egyptian Private Equity and Venture Capital Association (EPEVCA) and AmCham’s Entrepreneurship Committee.
