Cathalijne van der Plas
is an associate partner (PhD) of Florent. Her practice covers civil fraud and asset recovery litigation, private international law, commercial litigation and arbitration. She is the exclusive Dutch member of ICC’s FraudNet, a global network launched by the ICC in 2004 to provide fraud victims with an all-encompassing service to respond to multi-jurisdictional fraud and to maximise asset recovery, the co-chair of the Asset Recovery Chamber, the Institute For Financial Crime, Regional Representative Europe of the IBA Asset Recovery Subcommittee and actively involved with the Corporate Responsibility & Anti-corruption Commission of the Dutch branch of the ICC. She has had a number of case notes published and writes regularly for industry publications. Cathalijne is a regular speaker at various national and international conferences on the topic of asset recovery and on the opportunities that victims of international fraud have in various jurisdictions to gather information on the trail left by the fraudster. She lectures at the University of Amsterdam on private international law and at post-academic legal training institutes on private international law.
