About Karen Dawson

Karen Dawson is co-head of Bennett Jones LLP’s banking and secured transactions group. She is a practical, client-service oriented financial services lawyer with extensive experience acting as lead counsel for lenders (institutional and private credit) and borrowers in a wide range of complex domestic and international finance transactions, including corporate lending transactions, acquisition financings, project financings, asset-based lending transactions, reserve-based lending arrangements, equipment financings and private placements. She also has broad experience working on restructurings (including the establishment of debtor-in-possession financing arrangements and foreclosures), and routinely advises as Canadian counsel in connection with complex cross-border financing arrangements.
