About Sharif Bhuiyan

Sharif Bhuiyan is a senior advocate of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh and a partner and deputy head at Dr Kamal Hossain and Associates. He is a member of the Permanent Court of Arbitration, and was co-rapporteur of the trade law committee of the International Law Association (2009–14) and a visiting fellow at the University of Cambridge (2006). He is the author of National Law in WTO Law (Cambridge University Press, 2007) and co-editor of International Law and Developing Countries (Brill Nijhoff, 2014). He practises in a wide range of areas including arbitration. He has acted as counsel and legal expert in arbitrations under the ICSID, ICC, UNCITRAL, SIAC, GAFTA and DIA rules and under the domestic arbitration laws of Bangladesh, Korea and the UK, and also appeared in major arbitration cases before the Bangladesh Supreme Court.
