About Sharif Bhuiyan

Sharif Bhuiyan is an advocate before the Supreme Court of Bangladesh and a partner and deputy head of Dr Kamal Hossain & Associates. He was co-rapporteur of the trade law committee of the International Law Association from 2009 to 2014 and a visiting fellow at the University of Cambridge in 2006. He is the author of National Law in WTO Law (Cambridge University Press, 2007) and co-editor of International Law and Developing Countries (Brill Nijhoff, 2014). He practices in a wide range of areas including arbitration. He has acted as counsel and legal expert in arbitrations under the ICSID, ICC, UNCITRAL, SIAC, GAFTA and DIA rules and under the domestic arbitration laws of Bangladesh, Korea and the UK. He has acted as counsel in major arbitration cases before the Bangladesh Supreme Court.
