Barbara is frequently involved in high-profile cases and has acted in a number of leading cases in relation to matrimonial finance, financial provision for the children of unmarried parents, cross-border disputes regarding children and jurisdiction disputes.
She is a member of the Law Society and Resolution, and is a Fellow of the International Academy of Family Lawyers, and a qualified mediator and member of the ADR Group.
Amongst the cases in which Barbara has recently acted is the successful representation of a German mother in an international child relocation case, where the father (who was resident in Finland) had refused to consent to their daughter permanently relocating from England to Switzerland. Following negotiations, an agreement was reached in less than two months, allowing the mother and daughter to relocate permanently to Switzerland. She has also acted in a dispute between a Scandinavian aristocratic family and a UK-based banking heir regarding a Scandinavian estate owned by the family since the 16th century.
