is an experienced tax specialist who deals with complex corporate and tax planning issues at a local and international level. She has advised clients on managing the tax effects of accounting requirements, tax risk and governance matters, and on improving tax processes and systems. Jelena began her career at the State Revenue Service in the Audit Department and continued in the Tax Control Board as a chief tax inspector. One of her latest achievements was conducting a detailed tax audit of two significant group companies in Latvia in order to evaluate the potential tax risks in the context of reorganisation as well as performing tax due diligence. She has been an author of various articles in the local media and recently wrote an article for Bloomberg entitled Latvian Tax Regulation: What’s Changed?.
