About Cherise Abela Grech

Cherise Abela Grech is a partner at GTG Legal, overseeing the firm's financial services, competition law, employment, and residence and citizenship practices. Since joining the firm in 2011, she has played a pivotal role in assisting clients to successfully obtain licences from the MFSA across various financial services categories, with a particular focus on crypto-asset service providers and financial institutions. She has also advised large-scale corporations on the establishment and regulatory implications of share option schemes. She has advised on multiple notable corporate transactions and matters, including advising on competition and foreign direct investment matters, guiding large-scale firms undergoing a merger or acquisition process, or the acquisition/disposal of critical infrastructure. Her extensive experience, combined with her expertise, enables her to provide clients with well-rounded and strategic guidance. In addition to her legal practice, Dr Abela Grech is also an examiner on Bachelor of Laws dissertations at the University of Malta.
