is an international partner of the Tax practice group in Baker McKenzie Colombia. From 2006 to 2010, he was a tax manager at Deloitte’s tax and legal division. He has written several articles on tax and international trade matters, which have been featured in journals such as Ambito Juridico and Universitas. He has also been a professor of a Master’s degree course in taxation at Universidad Externado de Colombia and Universidad Javeriana. Currently he is a professor at Universidad ICESI. Since 2001, Mr Meza has advised companies from the oil and gas, pharmaceutical, IT, consumer business, and mining sectors in Colombia. His areas of practice include tax planning, tax advisory and tax litigation. He has also been involved in the restructuring of several companies and in various mergers and acquisitions that have involved local and international jurisdictions. He has advised local and multinational companies such as AngloGold Ashanti, Chevron Petroleum, Frontera Energy, Coca Cola FEMSA, Copa Airlines, Parex Resources and Petroleos Sudamericanos.
