Adolfo Athié Cervantes
is a partner at Basham with deep expertise in intellectual property, particularly litigation, strategic counselling and patent enforcement. He led the legal strategy behind Mexico’s first patent term adjustment precedent (Bayer case) before the Supreme Court, benefiting the pharmaceutical sector. Adolfo represents clients in complex administrative and constitutional proceedings, including data protection, privacy and amparo actions. He is highly experienced in anti-counterfeiting, unfair competition and domain disputes, including WIPO cases. He is a member of INTA, IAPP, AMPPI and PTMG, and serves on the Constitutional Rights Committee of the Mexican Bar Association.
