About Alejandro Barrera

Alejandro Barrera is a senior tax partner at Basham with over 31 years of experience advising clients on tax planning, audits, compliance, transfer pricing, controversy, litigation and dispute resolution. His professional background includes positions at the Federal Tax Prosecution Agency and a New York-based brokerage firm, providing him with a strong perspective on cross-border taxation. A recipient of the prestigious Fulbright Scholarship, Alejandro earned his LLM in International Taxation from New York University. He is also a professor at some of Mexico’s leading law schools, where he teaches Tax Law and International Taxation. Alejandro is fluent in Spanish, English, and Portuguese.
