Jorge Leon Orantes
is a partner of the firm and head of its M&A practice. He has broad experience in local and global M&A transactions, providing overall analysis, implementing structures and strategies, carrying out due diligence of the target company and drafting and negotiating transaction documents. He also advises on strategies regarding governmental permits and clearances, including pre-merger notices to the Competition Commission and follow-up with government agencies on applications for authorisations, opinions or criteria, as each transaction may require. Jorge has particularly extensive practice experience in educational industry M&A, having pioneered this field in Mexico and worked on deals including the largest educational acquisition in Latin America. He regularly contributes to international panels and discussions concerning Mexican M&A, and has parallel expertise in TMT, e-commerce, privacy and data protection.
