About Belisario Porras

Belisario Porras is a specialist in maritime law, ship finance, corporate law, commercial law and banking law. He has more than 20 years of experience in handling the maritime and corporate interests of top ship-owning companies, ship managers, banks and financial institutions from several different jurisdictions in Europe, the USA, the Middle East, Asia and Latin America. He provides assistance to clients from Patton Moreno & Asvat’s Panamanian head office, as well as from its branch office in London, in which he serves as the partner in charge. He has been part of the Drafting Commission of several laws on shipping financing and ship registration matters, and is a member of the Panamanian Bar Association, the German Panamanian Chamber of Commerce and the Panama Maritime Law Association (on its board of directors since 2011 and its President from 2015–17).
