About Joaquín De Obarrio

Joaquín De Obarrio has more than a decade of experience within the legal sector, specialising in shipping litigation, commercial law, administrative law, public procurement and arbitration. He obtained an LLB from Universidad Santa Maria La Antigua and an LLM in Banking, Financial and Corporate Law from Tulane University (2015). He is a member of the Panamanian Bar Association, the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), the Arbitration Committee, the ShipArrested Network, the Panamanian Maritime Law Association (a member of its board of directors in 2019–20 and 2020–21, and vice-president in 2022–23/2023–24) and the International Maritime University of Panama (on the board of trustees).
