About Ümit Hergüner

Ümit Hergüner co-founded Hergüner in 1989. As a founder and senior partner, he leads major transactions and projects involving joint ventures; private equity; mergers and acquisitions; oil and gas, and energy projects; corporate governance; public tenders; procurement; government relations; government contracts; defence contracts; and public international law. After graduating from Istanbul University, Ümit was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship and earned LLM degrees from American University Washington College of Law and the University of Virginia School of Law. He is a board member of the International Law Institute in Washington, DC, and a founder and former president of the Istanbul chapter of the ILI. He is also an advisory board member of the Corporate Governance Association of Türkiye and a board member of the Board of Directors Association, both of which he co-founded.
