About Michael Gagie

Michael Gagie is regional managing partner of Maples and Calder’s Asia offices in Hong Kong and Singapore. He is also global head of the firm’s British Virgin Islands (BVI) practice. His experience and areas of practice cover both BVI and Cayman Islands law and include a broad range of banking and structured finance work, where he acts as lender counsel for international and regional banks and performs borrower work for funds and corporates. In addition, Michael has significant corporate law experience (both public and private work) and regularly advises corporates and private equity funds on joint ventures, pre-IPO structures and downstream private equity acquisitions and disposals.
