About Shun Komiya

Shun Komiya represents domestic and foreign clients, including banks, insurance companies and fintech companies. Drawing on his secondment experience at the JFSA, he advises on new business, financial regulations, financing, M&A, compliance risk management and litigation. His clients also include non-financial venture companies. During his secondment, he worked on AML/CFT initiatives, including Japan’s response to the FATF’s 4th Mutual Evaluation, contributing to the enhancement of AML/CFT in Japan. He was further involved in deregulation of banks’ business scope and investment rules and handled inquiries on the interpretation of the Banking Act and other financial regulations across a broad client base.
