is the firm’s founding partner, with a J.D. from ITAM in Mexico City and a Master’s degree in law from Duke University in Durham, North Carolina, and diplomas in telecommunications, technology and the energy sector. He has over 25 years of experience in the Mexican telecommunications, technology and broadcast sectors, in which he represents major international and domestic clients in a wide variety of services and technologies, ranging from terrestrial networks to wide fibre optic and wireless networks, geostationary satellites and the internet of things. Iván has participated in several of the most relevant regulatory, legislative and transactional matters in the Mexican TMT sectors, and represents TMT clients in corporate matters such as financings, restructurings, divestitures, M&A and data privacy. He is a former president of Mexico’s Telecommunications Law Institute, a member of the Federal Communications Bar Association and a regular speaker in technology and telecommunications conferences, having taught telecommunications law courses at several Mexican law schools.
