Afam Nwokedi is principal counsel and group head at Stillwaters, specialising in trade-mark administration and litigation. Mr Nwokedi has been involved in several intellectual property law initiatives, building processes and case law development in Nigeria. He was a member of the Federal Government Committee for the establishment of the Intellectual Property Commission, a member of the Nigerian delegation to OHADA (African Association for the Harmonisation and Development of Commercial Law) with specific representation on IP. He has served on the anti-counterfeiting committees of both INTA and IPO and has had several collaborations with the Commercial Law Development Programme (CLDP) of the United States Department of Commerce. His professional memberships include NBA, IPLAN, INTA, MARQUES, PTMG, AEA, AIPPI, BMM, IBA, APAA, and IPO. Mr Nwokedi is the producer of a Nigerian radio programme entitled Idea Police and chairs many IP-related initiatives, aside from being the current chairman of the IP Committee of the Nigerian Bar Association (Section on Business Law). He is a Fellow of the Institute of Management Consultants and has published widely on IP-related matters.
